Walter "Bing" Wulf
Walter Carl “Bing” Wulf, 97, of Plankinton, SD passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell, SD. Funeral Mass is 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plankinton. A Committal Service with Military Honors will follow at Mizpah Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 26, 2018 with a 7:00 P.M. Wake Service.

Walter Carl Wulf was born on September 5, 1920 to Henry D., Jr. and Ruth (Davis) Wulf in Crystal Lake Township, Aurora County, SD. He attended country school and went on to serve his country in the US Army from January of 1941 to October of 1945. Walter was united in marriage to Bernadeen Ruth Sexton on September 16, 1950 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plankinton.

Bing was dedicated to his work at Dunn’s Mobil and Roadside 66 Service Stations - fixing bike tires for about every kid in town during his career. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and VFW Aurora County Post #6554. Walter will be fondly remembered for his friendliness and sweet tooth; he was also an avid Yankees fan.

Grateful for having shared in Walter’s life: his daughter, Holly Wulf of Plankinton, SD; a brother, Vernon Wulf of Mitchell, SD; three sisters: Mickey Darrough of Sioux City, IA, Olive Fravenfelder of St. George, KS and Bea Wulf of Stickney, SD; in-laws: Agnes Wulf of Hawarden, IA, Harold Buck of Armour, SD, Karleen Whitney of Rapid City, SD, Merlin (Barbara) Sexton of Las Vegas, NV, Ila Mae (Richard) Taylor of Alliance, NE, Ruth Ann Doubt of Tennessee; along with many nieces and nephews.

Bing was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadeen (Oct. 24, 2010); an infant son; his parents, Henry D. Jr. and Ruth; five brothers: Albert, Barney, Lawrence, Richard and Henry; and five sisters: Elaine, Henrietta, Violet, Laura and Pauline.
