Lloyd Raymond Timmerman, 66, of Platte, SD passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Platte Health Center Avera with his family by his side. Funeral Services are 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Olive Presbyterian Church in Platte. A Committal Service will follow at Platte City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, September 5, 2019 with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service.

Lloyd Raymond Timmerman was born on February 23, 1953 to Walter and Grace (Hiemstra) Timmerman in Mitchell, SD. He attended Rhoda 68 Country Grade School in Bovee, SD and graduated from Platte High School in 1971. Lloyd was a Beekeeper, and a farm/ranch hand for many family farms and companies through the years. Including Herd Manager for River Hills Ranch and most recently, he was employed as a ranch hand for David Mason at Prairie Valley Farms in Platte; as well as a member of the American Angus Association.
On January 25, 1975 Lloyd was united in marriage to Starlene Jeanette Boyden at the Olive Presbyterian Church in Platte. Lloyd enjoyed working cattle and riding horses, but especially loved the time he spent with his grandkids.
Grateful for having shared in Lloyd’s life: his wife of over 44 years, Starlene Timmerman of Platte, SD; four children: Jennifer (Jeremiah) DeJong of Platte, SD, April (Buck) Van Zee of Platte, SD, Joby (Layne) Timmerman of Pukwana, SD and Shawn Timmerman of Platte, SD; eight grandchildren: Brevin, Wyatt and Peyton DeJong, Michael Rooks, Bane, Tucker, Bennet and Shaylene Van Zee; a brother, Ross (Sherry) Timmerman of Geddes, SD; a sister, Judy (Dave) Hubbard of Havelock, NC; mother-in-law, LaMae Boyden of Platte, SD; a brother-in-law, Jim (LuAnn) Boyden of Platte, SD; a sister-in-law, Shelley (Lowell) Kuipers of Lennox, SD; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Grace Timmerman; a brother, Dareld Timmerman; and father-in-law, Don Boyden.
