Edwin Earl Falor was born on August 30, 1932 to Sylvester and Ethel Agnes (Briggs) Falor in Kimball, SD. He attended Kimball High School, entered the US Navy on November 19, 1952, serving his country during the Korean War until November 2, 1956. Ed was united in marriage to Joan Marie Gustad on March 11, 1953 in Geddes, SD.
After farming and milking cows for 25 years, Ed worked for Wynia Implement and then 33 years at Severson Service Station. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, enjoyed bowling, playing cards, trying his luck at bingo, putting together puzzles and going camping. He loved traveling with Joan on bus tours and baseball; cheering on the Cleveland Indians. It was especially great to combine the two when they took a baseball tour bus trip – attending seven games in six days! Ed made sure his family had an awesome life together, faithfully following his kid’s sports activities, and happily grabbing a hotdog on the go after work to make it to their games. He was always planning for the next family get together, and was looking forward to celebrating March birthdays and their anniversary at the motel. Ed dearly loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared in Ed’s life, his wife of over 67 years, Joan Falor of Platte, SD; two children: Barbara (Russell) Dozark of Delmont, SD and Kenneth (Nancy) Falor of Madison, SD; five grandchildren: Craig (Nicole) Falor, Matthew (Danielle) Falor, Cody Dozark (Brandi Broekemeier), Nicole (Andy) Geppert, and Kaylene (Jesse) Prusia; five great grandchildren: Nicholas Geppert, Allison Geppert, Mara Prusia, Connor Falor, Sylvester Prusia and baby boy Falor due in April; a step great grandson, Abel Prusia; a brother-in-law, Richard (Julie) Gustad of Platte, SD; a sister-in-law, Janet (Mike) McConnell of Sioux Falls, SD; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Ethel Falor; three brothers: Wayne (Doris) Falor, Harold Falor and Merle (Berniece) Falor; a sister, Dorothy Kegel; two sisters-in-law: Beverly (Wilbur) Munger and Harriet (Arnold) Dalldorf; and a brother-in-law, Ernest Sterk.
