Obituary for Travis Allan Bodin

Travis Allan Bodin, 27, of Platte, SD passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 at home. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, April 18, 2022 at Mount Funeral Home in Platte. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Travis’s son may be made to the William L. Bodin Benefit Account and can be sent or brought to: First Fidelity Bank, PO Box 450, Platte, SD 57369. Travis Allan Bodin was born on December 14, 1994 to William “Bill” Brent and Janell Marie (Erickson) Bodin in Rock Springs, WY. In 2013 he graduated from Spring Creek High School in Spring Creek, NV and went on to continue his education at Dakota State University in Madison, SD.

While in school Travis participated in Future Business Leaders of America, was a member of Jazz Band, as well as coaching and officiating Junior Football League for many years. He made All State playing football for Spring Creek, and also earned Outstanding Lineman of the Year and Offensive Lineman of the Year. During his time at Dakota State University, he was a linebacker and center. Throughout his life he enjoyed playing video games.    

Grateful for having shared in Travis’s life: his fiancé, Justine Keegel and his son, William “Will” Leon Bodin of Platte, SD; his parents, Bill and Janell Bodin of Platte, SD; a brother, Taylor (Jessica) Bodin of Kaneohe, HI; a sister, Ashley Bodin of McDavid, FL; grandparents, Bruce and Karen Erickson, Jim and Jan Bodin; aunts: Elaine (David) Budak, Norma Hargrove, Sandy (Trevor) Elenbaas and Jill (Rick) Gustad; uncles: Kelly Goodrich and Darrin (Stacey) Erickson; Justine’s children: Izzy, Rylee and Haze, whom he loved like his own; along with many beloved cousins of whom he was very fond.

Travis was preceded in death by his grandmother, Verlinda Bodin; aunts: Debbie Bodin and Toni Goodrich; and an uncle, Randy Hargrove.
